In August four brave ladies, Christine Beckwith, Carol Arnold, Lisa Jones and Val Jones decided they would attempt a “virtual” English Channel swim to raise much needed funds for our local StreetLife Sterilisation Programme based in the East Algarve.

What was involved? They swam the equivalent to 35 kilometers / 22 miles, the width of the English Channel, in their respective swimming pools ranging from 6 meters to 9.5 meters in length. In total a staggering 13,650 lengths between them! That’s amazing!
